Touch down at Kigali International Airport, where your journey begins with a powerful experience at the Kigali Genocide Memorial. This thought-provoking site offers a deep reflection on Rwanda’s past and honors the lives lost during the 1994 genocide.
Spend the evening relaxing at your hotel in the heart of Kigali, ready for the days of adventure ahead.
Spend the morning soaking in Kigali’s vibrant culture with optional experiences like a Nyamirambo walking tour, Inema Arts Centre, or a visit to the bustling local markets.
In the afternoon, embark on a scenic drive through Rwanda’s lush countryside, crossing the Cyanika or Katuna border into Uganda. By evening, you'll arrive in Kisoro, nestled near Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, with stunning views of the Virunga Volcanoes.
Check in and unwind at your cozy mountain lodge.
Start your day with a thrilling gorilla trekking adventure in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. After a pre-hike briefing, set off on a moderate hike through forested hills in search of the majestic mountain gorillas. Spend a magical hour in their presence—an unforgettable wildlife experience.
Later in the afternoon, relax with a peaceful sunset boat ride on either Lake Mulehe or Lake Mutanda, where you’ll soak in breathtaking views and spot birds as the sun dips behind the volcanic peaks.
Choose your adventure:
Option A – Mountain Hike:
Trek Mt. Gahinga or Mt. Sabinyo, a rewarding full-day hike (6–7 hours) through bamboo forests and alpine moorlands. At the summit, enjoy sweeping views across three countries—Uganda, Rwanda, and the DRC.
Option B – Batwa Trail Experience:
Join the Batwa community, Uganda’s Indigenous forest guardians, on an immersive cultural walk. Visit sacred caves, learn traditional hunting techniques, and hear stories passed down through generations.
Return to your lodge in Kisoro for another peaceful night under the stars.
After breakfast, begin your drive back to Kigali.
On the way, you may stop at Volcanoes National Park for an optional hike to the Dian Fossey Tomb—a tribute to the legendary primatologist and her beloved silverback, Digit.
Arrive in Kigali in the late afternoon. We’ll transfer you to the airport for your flight home—or help you continue with onward travel.
