Day One : Arrival

Airport pick-up and transfer to hotel. Meet your Tour Leader for a pre-trek briefing.

Day Two: Mandara Hut

From the cluster of the building at the gate it is about four hours hike through the forest to-reach mandara Hut, 2,720m ( 4 Hours)

Day Three : Horombo Hut

Your second day on the mountain starts with a gentle climb through the last swathe of the rain forest to the Moorlands Further on this day you gain 1000m in altitude to reach Horombo hut 3720m (6 hrs)

Day Four : Horomo Hut

Acclimatization Day. Free day
This is a free day to recover and to acclimatize our body on the high elevation. We will climb about 300 meters high and come back to the same campsite to relax and acclimatize your body.

Day Five: Kibo Hut

We cross the Saddle, a lunar desert landscape, between Kibo and Mawenzi to reach Kibo hut (5 Hours)

Day Six: Summit Uhuru Peak (5,895m)

We start the final ascent at 23:00 or at midnight. As we are trekking in darkness we will hike slowly on a switchback trail through loose volcanic scree to reach Uhuru Peak. After a few minutes taking pictures and appreciating the views we then descend to Horombo Hut to spend our final night (11 – 13 hrs). This is where we say goodbye to your guides, cook and porters. Should you feel satisfied with the level of service provided you may feel free to tip their service directly.

Day Seven: Marangu Gate (1,970m)

A steady descent takes us down through moorland and into Montane rain forest to reach Marangu Gate. Here your van will collect you to transport you back to the hotel (6hrs).

Day Eight : End of the trip
